Mustaffa yearns to live in a world where people connect from disconnecting and strives for excellence through giving not always receiving. He does not believe that we created the black hole, it has always been there, just undiscovered.
Besides orchestrating operations and mapping the business strategies, Mustaffa manages the group's human resource and finances.
Having read Psychology in the National University of Singapore and served the Strategic Planning Department in the Singapore Civil Defence Force (he claims it was good while it lasted), Mustaffa decided to explore the less trodden path as soon as he realised he got left behind by the pack.
A fervent supporter of the one child policy since the birth of #giseletaylorseah, the newly minted father is still coming to terms with the sleepless nights.
The co-founder of the entities, Calvin oversees the group's logistics, occasionally doubling up as the IT guy.
A marketing major from NUS Business School, Calvin trod the path of his own brand activation agency before being sucked into The Black Hole.
Playful and quite a handful - Ash threads on a delicate line of being both a joy and bother to everyone he befriends. Professionally, he is meticulous, precise and a risk-taker. Privately, he is quirky, sarcastic and usually hungry.
Ash has an indefinite amount of love for combat sports, Game Of Thrones, witty clap-backs as well as sneakers. Seemingly intimidating, Ash’s affable personality will grow on you. To the uninitiated, his sharp tongue and piercing insults may be misconstrued but Ash’s a real affectionate guy. Really.
The intense labour, required self-discipline and the opportunity to always learn something new - these are some of the things Sufi enjoy working in the F&B industry. His love for food caught up with him even as he escaped tropical Singapore to pursue a different education route in the United Kingdom.
Charmed by the seemingly simple yet technical art of pasta-making, Sufi was inspired to have a pasta place of his own. Sufi is now living one of his dreams managing Tipo where he churns out artisanal pasta made lovingly from scratch.
Our head chef had an early start into the culinary world where he was tossed into an array of cuisines that he quickly took interests in. With his sharp palate, keenness to explore unique flavours and joyful enthusiasm for food, the robust menus across The Black Hole Group entities are in good hands. Despite exposure to various cuisines, traditional Malay food is an area the Chef wants to have total mastery over.
Fadzil’s adventurous spirit extends beyond the culinary realm - he once tried to climb Mount Fuji by himself out of sheer curiosity! Damn, you go girl.
Norish has a keen eye for aesthetics, and her strong connection with the way graphics, colours and text intersect demands anyone passing by her designs to look twice. Always restless for new experiences when she was in school, Norish has tried her hand in many things like singing in musicals, partaking in Malay Dance, joining the Netball team (she even did PE as a core subject!), banging the Caixa in the Percussion Ensemble and dancing in a hip hop crew.
This young lady has an affinity for iced Milo and a deep love for steak - medium rare please!
To have the gift of language flow easily from her fingertips has long been Sharifah’s personal pursuit. Alas, her best friends continue to be the decade-old vocabulary books from her secondary school days. Sharifah now churns out copies for TBHG, hoping to delight the masses with trite puns and charming humour.
Meanwhile, she’s comforted by future prospects of becoming the cat lady with an arguably mild addiction to iced tea.
Born and raised near the coast of the historical region of Normandy, Melissa found herself swept unto the shores of Singapore by a mysterious force. Her travels to Asia brought her to us and as fate would have it, she was sucked in without notice! This hard on the outside soft on the inside Frenchie manages the human resource affairs of The Black Hole Group. She is famously known for her French Word of the Week (we'll all be fluent in no time!) and quirky demeanour. She also talks to herself sometimes.
Security, Bookkeeping, XXX - she's done it all! You can say that she's travelled the galaxy before finding her place in The Black Hole Group. Affectionately referred to as Big Mama - Ain lends a nurturing aura to everyone in the group. Almost everyone. From facial treatments to beef rendangs, it is no surprise that Ain is our mother at work.
Oh, Ain also handles accounting and administrative affairs in the group. When Ain is not expressing her endless desire for delicious Chocolate Melts with Vanilla Ice Cream, she volunteers at Darul Arqam Singapore to help other converts like her and hides the office pussycats Rye and Bagel from Mus.
Tater tots, French fries, hash brown, gratin, scalloped potatoes - the versatility of the humble spud is just one of the reasons Chuck loves it so much. Whether it comes fried and crispy or mashed and velvety, she will devour it all.
Chuck thrives on challenges and her tenacity is something she has built up as a camp instructor in her previous job. While the wilderness is her playground, a fan of exercise she is not for she is most likely to be hibernating on the couch during her free time. With the amount of energy she expands at work, we understand why Chuck!
Ali’s calm demeanour easily makes him everyone’s favourite sucker. While patient and friendly, Ali is still quite the risk-taker and is always up for challenges that brings new opportunities. It is this entrepreneurial spirit that keeps him busy, even before he was running The Mad Sailors as its manager.
This ardent fan of Manchester City has been a supporter since the famous match 6-1 match against the glorious Manchester United. A self-declared fried chicken connoisseur, Ali is picky about eating only the very best (every calorie counts so make them worth it!).
Fathullah's life journey took a turn when he decided to leave the finance world in Malaysia and delve into the food and beverage industry across the causeway. This causeway is the same one he travels back and forth every day to get to work! Despite receiving an education in Accounting and Finance, he decided that his love for cooking preceded all other pursuits.
This groove master got himself sucked into The Black Hole Group and has been banging out wicked burgers and learning the trade with the hopes of owning his own establishment in Malaysia one day. Besides hustling daily in the kitchen and concocting new signature dishes, this proud Johorian with a perpetual toothy grin is also a proud father of two beautiful children and enjoys spending his free time with his family.
A former mixologist at Atap Bar, Fadhuli really lets his creative juices flow with his knack for concocting delicious beverages. When he’s not inventing or tweaking his drink recipes, Fadhuli can be found forming lyrical poems and prose to declutter his over-eager mind. This multifaceted communications and new media graduate also loves the outdoors and run marathons for fun.
If there is one thing Fadhuli could eat for the rest of his life, his ma and pops’ nasi lemak with sambal squid is his choice.
